3D effects of soil-atmosphere interaction on infrastructure slope stability

چکیده

It has long been established that pore water pressure (pwp) variations affect the stability and serviceability of slopes. Pwp may be due to consolidation/swelling processes within soils low permeability or seasonal evapotranspiration precipitation processes. The simultaneous study such phenomena hydro-mechanical coupling in sloping ground requires use advancednumerical methods. Often, infrastructure slopes are considered plane strain (two-dimensional) conditions for simplicity date this is case most numerical analyses considering soil-atmosphere interaction. However, approach makes it impossible longitudinal extent a possible slip surface forming following vegetation removal. Three-dimensional, fully-coupled acut slope were performed herein effect clearance on explore numerically ways implementing effective management.

Effects of geometrical and geomechanical properties on slope stability of open-pit mines using 2D and 3D finite difference methods

Slope stability analysis is one of the most important problems in mining and geotechnical engineering. Ignoring the importance of these problems can lead to significant losses. Selecting an appropriate method to analyze the slope stability requires a proper understanding of how different factors influence the outputs of the analyses. This paper evaluates the effects of considering the real geom...

Soil and Rock Slope Stability Analysis based on Numerical Manifold Method and Graph Theory

Limit equilibrium method, strength reduction method and Finite Difference Methods are the most prevalently used methods for soil and rock slope stability analysis. However, it can be mention that those have some limitations in practical application. In the Limit equilibrium method, the constitutive model cannot be considered and many assumptions are needed between slices of soil and rock. The s...

Effects of Skid Trail Slope and Ground Skidding on Soil Disturbance

The effects of traffic frequency and skid trail slope on dry bulk density, litter mass and rutting are examined. Treatments included a combination of four different traffic frequencies (3, 7, 14, and 20 passes of a rubber skidder) and three levels of slope ( 20%.) The results showed that dry bulk density, rut depth and soil displacement increased with the increase of traffic frequency and slop...
